With my current style of painting, I love letting the colors "do their own thing" once they hit the canvas. It's fun to let the consistency of the paint decide how it will mix with other paints. While painting, I focus on two different thicknesses of paints. I like how thicker paint stays in place and thinner is easily spread. I have been searching for my style of painting for about a year and a half now. I want to stand out from everyone else. At first, I tried using different kitchen utensils. I found that my favorite "brush" to use was a spoon. After experimenting with plastic spoons, forks, and knives, I switched to normal brushes and tried layering colors based on hues and tones and changing the sizes of the brush I was using for each layer. While working on my degree at Texas State University I didn't paint as much, but towards the end of my last semester, I started up again! Currently, the palette knife is my only tool. This is where my style is at now and I absolutely love it! The colors decide for themselves where they want to go and how they want to mix. I let the paint to speak for itself.
